Curiosity and Learning Self-Reflection

"Mental age" once meant a score on early childhood intelligence tests and isn't used for adults. This page does not estimate one. It's a light self-reflection on curiosity and learning habits. Higher means more of these habits; it says nothing about intelligence or mental health.

Before you start

Method : Curiosity and Learning Self-Reflection — a custom points score written by this site. Each answer adds or subtracts the points shown in the Methodology table below.

Validation : Unvalidated. The points have never been tested against any laboratory measurement or health outcome, and the result is not an age.

Review : not reviewed by a qualified clinician. Educational only — not a diagnosis or a medical test.

This quiz is not about mental health. If you're struggling or having thoughts of harming yourself, contact a doctor, a crisis line or emergency services now.

Methodology & assumptions

Your score is the sum of the points below. The weights are our own judgement. The old version turned self-rated curiosity, problem-solving, memory and focus into a "mental age". That had no scientific basis, so the age was removed. Unlike the health scores on this site, higher points here mean more of the listed habits.

Worked examples

Learns, reads, changes mind, creates and talks with different people often: 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 10 points.

Rarely does any of these: 0 points.

Understanding your result

This adds up habits you reported, for self-reflection only. Higher means more curiosity and learning habits. It is not an intelligence test, not a mental-health test and not an age. Health-agency guidance linked below is general and based on populations, not on this score.
